Texas AWI provides educational seminars and meetings to help your business overcome challenges and obstacles in an ever changing marketplace.

Giving Back

One of our goals is to give back to our industry. Texas AWI provides scholarships to young aspiring woodworkers. This allows them to compete on a national level and provides financial support for their education.

Texas AWI Mission Statement

The Texas Chapter of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (TAWI) is a non-profit organization partnering with AWI in being the authoritative resource for the advancement of architectural woodwork.

  • To promote the use of architectural woodwork by reaching and informing customers, design professionals, and the woodworking community with programs of value.
  • To promote quality standards and certification program as developed by AWI National.
  • To promote education through seminars, workshops, publications and networking.
  • To promote the value of AWI national membership and their resources in the woodworking community.

  • 2025 SkillsUSA Cabinet Making Contest
  • Attention: The date of the SkillsUSA Cabinetmaking Contest has changed to April 3 – April 4. 2025 SkillsUSA Texas Cabinetmaking Contest More information will be sent out soon. Be sure to register if you plan to attend & volunteer.
  • High School Students Compete in Corpus Christi
  • The annual Texas SkillsUSA Cabinetmaking Competition took place in Corpus Christi at the American Bank Center.  A total of 16 students qualified at district competitions this year.  That is the largest single turn-out for the cabinetmaking competition and all of the competitors were prepared to showcase their skills and abilities.   • Hayden Clarke from College Station H.S. takes 1st place! On Friday, June 24th 2022, it was announced that Hayden Clarke, the Texas state champion had won the National SkillsUSA Cabinetmaking Contest.
